D1P008: Description of project objectives/concepts | |
D1P008: Description of project objectives/concepts | The main objective of the project is to develop an open and collaborative platform (OPEN4CEC) based on microservices to support Citizen Energy Communities (CEC) and its members: consumers (individual households and buildings), prosumers, Distributed Generation & Storage (DGS). The microservices will implement models for Consumers: Demand Side Management (DSM), Demand Response (DR), load optimization, monitoring and control of smart appliances; DGS: small/medium generation based on renewables and storage, including prosumers: generation forecast and optimization, sizing storage, Electric Vehicles (EV) management; CEC: business models for aggregators, local energy/flexibility markets, auctions, smart contracts and settlement. OPEN4CEC will be scalable and tailored to cope with the diversity of CEC and various developing stages in terms of DSM, regulatory framework, regional, economic and social awareness, technological implementation (smart metering), privacy and cybersecurity challenges and barriers. For modularity/scalability, several layers are envisioned to be included in OPEN4CEC: Layer1 Awareness, Acceptance & Adoption; Layer2 Load Control, Optimization & Analytics; Layer3 Predictive & Proactive for DGS; Layer4 Market trading & Business models for CEC. OPEN4CEC is envisioned to be further updated after the end of the project continuing the energy transition. The microservices are independent and offer the possibility to the stakeholders to extend/update the models and support the diversity of the CEC and its members. |
